Judge/Executive Steve Pendery Proclaims National Public Works Week in Campbell County
Judge/Executive Steve Pendery, joined by Commissioner Brian Painter and Commissioner Tom Lampe, proclaimed May 17 through May 23, 2026, as National Public Works Week in Campbell County at this week's Fiscal Court meeting. The proclamation recognizes the dedicated public works professionals who help build, maintain, and protect the systems that residents rely on every day.
This year marks the 66th annual National Public Works Week, sponsored by the American Public Works Association. The theme for 2026 is "Rooted in Service, Powered by Community."
Public works professionals are the engineers, managers, and employees, at all levels of government and in the private sector, who keep our communities working. They are responsible for building, repairing, and protecting:
- Roads, bridges, and other transportation systems
- Water supply and water treatment systems
- Solid waste collection and disposal systems
- Public buildings and other facilities that serve residents
This work is essential to public health, safety, and quality of life for everyone in Campbell County. Most of it happens quietly in the background, but it is the foundation of a strong and lasting community.
Several public works leaders attended the meeting to mark the week:
- Tyler Hill, Project Development Specialist with Boone County Public Works and President of the Kentucky Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
- Rick Buster, Assistant Road Supervisor with the Campbell County Fiscal Court and Secretary of the Kentucky Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
- Jackson E. Webster, Assistant Road Supervisor with the Campbell County Fiscal Court.
Their presence is a reminder that public works in Campbell County is part of a wider Northern Kentucky and statewide team.
